Doug Duguid

Chief Executive Officer

Doug has over 35 years of experience in the energy sector, with a mechanical engineering background. He was a founder of EnerMech, an international services company providing maintenance and commissioning solutions to the energy industry. Under his leadership, EnerMech expanded to 42 bases across 23 countries, employing 4,000 staff and generating £415m in revenue.

Prior to this, he played a key role at PSL Energy Services, driving its growth from a £20m UK-focused business to a £110m global operation before its sale to Halliburton. Earlier in his career, Doug spent a decade at KBR 1Production Services, leading EAME to an annual revenue of £200m.

Michael Buchan

Chief Financial Officer

Michael co-founded EnerMech alongside Doug, having previously been part of the management buyout team that acquired PSL Energy Services in 2003. As Finance Director, he played a pivotal role in the company's growth before its sale to Halliburton in 2007.

With over 25 years of experience in financial leadership within multinational service companies, Michael has extensive expertise in international markets, having lived and worked in Singapore, the Middle East, and Canada. A Chartered Accountant, he trained with KPMG before entering the energy sector.

Tom Smith

Regional Director for EAME

Tom has over 16 years of experience in the energy sector and holds an MBA. He has a strong track record in senior leadership roles, including as General Manager of Mergers & Acquisitions at Acteon Group, a specialist in marine energy and infrastructure.

Tom has extensive experience in business transformation, acquisitions, operational performance improvement, and organizational strategy, with a focus on optimizing energy service businesses.

Clare Hailes

HR Director

Clare has over 12 years of HR experience in the energy sector. She leads Aurora's HR function, focusing on talent development, organizational growth, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

She holds an Honours Degree in Management from the University of Stirling and is CIPD qualified.

Alan Bailey

Managing Director – Fabrication

Alan has 32 years of experience in managerial, operational, and technical roles, with a focus on multi-services management and energy transition. He was part of the EnerMech team before becoming UK Base Manager.

He later took on international roles, serving as Country Manager in Angola before moving to Australia and Mozambique, where he oversaw mechanical services for LNG plant construction and commissioning. Alan began his career in offshore drilling, training in fabrication, diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and instrumentation.

Carolina Orden

Business Development Director

Carolina is an experienced Business Development Manager with over 17 years in the energy sector. She has held key roles in marketing and sales both in the UK and internationally.

Holding a degree in Economic Science, she brings strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and expertise in strategic planning and company development.

David Duguid

Operations Director
- North

David is a Mechanical Engineer who transitioned from oil and gas process scopes to offshore wind in 2014. He has worked in project management and offshore execution for wind and oil & gas foundation installations across Europe and the Middle East.

Returning to the UK in 2019, he has been instrumental in developing Aurora’s renewables service and training capabilities.

Fiona Duguid

Chief Information Officer

Fiona holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town. She began her career in power generation before moving into oil and gas with Landmark Graphics and Halliburton, where she specialized in IT, developing technical software solutions for global clients.

With over 15 years of experience across Europe, Latin America, and Houston, Fiona brings a wealth of knowledge to Aurora Energy Services.

Martin Macphee

Technical Director

Martin joined Aurora in 2022, bringing extensive experience with major Wind Turbine OEMs and industry-specific qualifications.

He started his career in aerospace with the RAF before transitioning to onshore wind in 2004 as a Construction Commissioning Manager with Siemens Wind. He later held senior roles at RWE, Eneco, and across large-scale wind projects in the UK, Norway, and Taiwan.

Alan Mclean

Contracts & Commercial Director

Alan has over 44 years of experience in the energy and oil and gas industries. Since joining R&M Engineering in 1989, he has progressed from works supervisor to Director level.

With extensive expertise in fabrication, tendering, and estimating, he has been instrumental in business development. Alan began his career as an apprentice in fabrication and pipefitting with Speyside Engineering and is recognized for his leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Sinead McIntosh

Marketing Director

Sinead studied International Business and built a diverse marketing career, gaining experience in Western Australia’s personnel management sector. She has expertise in marketing analytics, M&A integration, and strategic campaign execution, delivering impactful marketing initiatives across multiple industries.

Matteo Ghiotto

General Manager Mechanical - Americas

Matteo has 17 years of experience in the energy industry, holding leadership roles at General Electric, Baker Hughes, and EnerMech. With a background in engineering and an MBA, he has a proven track record of driving business transformation, operational performance, and strategic growth in the energy services sector.

Niall Conlon

Director

Niall has over 25 years of experience, beginning his career in finance before transitioning into the energy sector in 2005. He has since founded, scaled, and successfully exited multiple businesses in Australia and the US.

Prior to co-founding Aurora Energy Services and RSGx, Niall led EnerMech’s operations across Australia and the US, overseeing 2,000 employees and delivering a diverse range of services across multiple industries. He has a proven track record of developing and growing businesses into market leaders through strong leadership, operational excellence, and a hands-on management approach.

Brett Raeside

Chief Financial Officer

Brett is the Chief Financial Officer of Aurora Energy Services and a Chartered Accountant with over a decade of experience in finance and commercial leadership roles in the energy sector. He specializes in business integration and financing growth for energy transition companies.

Before joining Aurora, Brett led the finance function for a division of an NYSE-listed company and played a key role in Acteon Group's strategic investments, supporting over £100m in renewable energy expansion.

Nick Reid

VP Business Development

Nick has over a decade of experience in sales and marketing within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). He has held leadership roles at Hanwha Convergence USA and Pearce Renewables, supporting utility, IPP, and OEM clients with tailored service and parts solutions.
Throughout his career, Nick has emphasized a relationship-driven, data-informed approach to client engagement.

At Aurora Energy Services, he leads the company’s growth strategy and strategic partnerships, with a national focus on solar and battery storage field services.

Andy Elrod

Director of Training

Andy is an accomplished and highly adaptable Technical Training Specialist with extensive experience in designing, managing, and auditing technical training programs. He has successfully attained qualification approvals from leading awarding bodies across a range of technical disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

With a strong background in quality assurance and competency frameworks, Andy has led training initiatives that enhance workforce skills and meet evolving industry requirements.

Alasdair Noble

Lifting & Marine Director

Alasdair has over 25 years of experience in the marine and oil & gas industries, specialising in complex lifting, marine, and transportation operations. He has successfully led large-scale offshore and subsea lifting campaigns, heavy transport logistics, and vessel operations, supporting major energy and infrastructure projects.

His expertise includes developing and implementing strategic lifting solutions, risk management frameworks, and operational best practices. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with international standards, Alasdair ensures the successful execution of complex lifting and marine operations.

Chris Palmer

Wind Services Director

Chris has 20 years of experience in renewable energy, leading teams and scaling businesses across wind services. As Wind Services Director for Aurora Energy Services UK/Europe, he oversees operations, service, and asset management across onshore and offshore wind projects.

He has built startups, managed companies with over 150 staff, and played a key role in ISO 17020 implementation for UK wind services. His experience includes major offshore blade campaigns, turnkey wind farm installations, and compliance leadership.

Katie Jordan

Chief Commercial Officer

Katie brings 14 years of commercial experience in the energy sector and serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Aurora Energy Services.

With a background in legal and commercial management, she has held senior roles in tendering, project execution, and supply chain management. She oversees the company’s commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and mitigating contractual risk.

Kane Winton

Engineering Operations Director

Kane has over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, holding a mechanical and offshore degree from Robert Gordon University.

He has worked with international operators such as Conoco Phillips, Equinor, and Spirit Energy before founding his own consultancy, providing strategic energy sector services globally.

Kane has led major project delivery teams, focusing on efficiency improvements and operational excellence.

Josh Winton

Engineering Project Director

Josh Winton project management professional with 14 years of experience in the energy sector, working with medium, and large-sized service and operator companies. Now stepping into a director role, he brings a strong track record in leading complex projects, optimising operations, and driving efficiency. With a hands-on leadership approach, Josh excels in delivering results in dynamic and challenging environments.

Raul de la Jara

General Manager - Chile

Raul is a pioneer in the wind energy industry in Chile and Latin America, with over 15 years of experience. He founded a service and training company that gained international recognition and led Altitec UK’s expansion into Latin America. With expertise in commercial and operational leadership, he has successfully entered the European market and continues to drive industry growth.

Jason Mclain

Electrical Service Director

Jason has nearly 20 years of experience in power distribution and electrical services, with a focus on utility-scale solar and high-voltage infrastructure. His expertise spans MV/HV switchgear, transformer testing, and advanced inverter commissioning, supporting safe and efficient operations across complex energy systems.
Before joining Aurora Energy Services, Jason led field service programs that delivered multimillion-dollar uptime improvements through predictive maintenance and root-cause diagnostics.

He now heads Aurora’s Electrical Services division, overseeing field operations, technical training, and reliability programs. His commitment to talent development and process optimization supports Aurora’s mission to lead in renewable asset performance and reliability.

Andy Briggs

HSE Manager

Andy has over 20 years of experience in workplace health and safety, holding postgraduate qualifications from the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide. He has led safety initiatives for AGL, BHP, and Electranet and played a crucial role in South Australia's storm recovery in 2016. A former board member of the Self Insurers Association of South Australia, he has extensive experience in high-voltage transmission, uranium mining, and renewables.

Malcolm Bowie

Chief Technology Officer

Malcolm has over 35 years’ experience as a consultant and advisor in offshore design and construction. A recognised technical authority in moorings, anchors, risers and floating systems, he has contributed to numerous high-profile global projects.

With more than 20 years in wind, wave and tidal energy, Malcolm is now deeply involved in floating wind, offering strategic guidance and technical insight to developers and organisations across the sector.

He holds a degree in Physics and Engineering, along with postgraduate qualifications in offshore engineering. A Patron of both the National Museums of Scotland and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, he is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Ian Donald

Director

Ian brings over four decades of board-level, executive, technical and project management experience across operator, major service company and SME environments. He has a strong record of successfully leading teams and advancing marine technology innovations from concept to commercialisation.

A founder of DES Operations and Enpro Subsea, Ian has played a pivotal role in developing both companies into industry leaders. He holds a Master’s in Marine Technology and an MBA in Energy Transition. Ian is named on several offshore and subsea technology patents and has received multiple industry awards for engineering and business innovation.

Raymond Semple

Chief Operating Officer

Raymond is a seasoned project and operations executive with deep experience delivering large-scale fixed, floating and subsea offshore developments. His career spans offshore operations, project delivery, and executive leadership roles. He has led regional business units in Brazil and North America for Technip, and global subsea business operations for DOF Subsea and Baker Hughes.

He holds a Bachelor’s Honours degree in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering and brings a strong track record in building teams and delivering results across complex international environments.

Andrew Linsdell

Director – Australia

Andrew has more than 16 years’ experience in the wind and renewables sector, beginning his career in 2009. Since 2013 he has held senior leadership roles, including as Managing Director of specialised wind businesses.

In 2019 he founded ARC Wind, which he grew into a company of over 260 employees before it became part of Aurora Energy Services in 2024.With an electrical trade background and expertise in high-voltage operations, Andrew has led major construction projects and developed dynamic service and O&M programmes.

His experience spans large-scale build-outs, major component exchange programmes, and blade inspection and repair campaigns, supporting the delivery of efficient and reliable renewable energy solutions.

Daniel Roberts

Director – APAC

Daniel has more than two decades of experience in engineering, operations and leadership roles across Australia, Asia and the Americas. Before joining Aurora Energy Services in 2024, he spent over 10 years with EnerMech, where he held senior positions including Vice President & General Manager Onshore in Houston and Managing Director for Asia. Earlier in his career, he managed large-scale industrial services projects and operations teams across Australia.

Daniel holds an MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Management from the Australian Institute of Business. He brings a strong record in operational leadership, risk management and business growth, with a focus on delivering safe and efficient services to clients worldwide.
